Paul McGill (he/they)
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Paul made a Broadway debut at 17 in La Cage aux Folles (2004) and went on to perform in A Chorus Line (Mark), Memphis, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, and Bullets Over Broadway. On screen, Paul is best known for playing Kevin in the 2009 remake of Fame, with additional appearances in Man on Wire, NBC’s Smash, and Nickelodeon’s Victorious.
As a choreographer, Paul helped shape the physicality of Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway for John Cameron Mitchell, Darren Criss, Michael C. Hall, and Taye Diggs. Collaborations with music artists including FKA twigs, Dora Jar, and Mila Jam. Off-Broadway work includes See What I Wanna See, Which Way to the Stage, and The Legend of Georgia McBride. Regionally, Tick, Tick… BOOM! (Kennedy Center, dir. Neil Patrick Harris), La Cage aux Folles (Barrington Stage), and The Music Man (Asolo Rep). Film and television credits include Étoile (Amazon Prime), RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Annie Live! (NBC), as well as coaching Laverne Cox for The Rocky Horror Picture Show (FOX).
Paul works closely with mentor Christopher Wheeldon, contributing annually to Festival PAAX in Mexico and restaging select works for New York City Ballet. Their choreography spans stage, film, television, circus, and site-specific productions, merging contemporary innovation with classical technique.
With a deep curiosity about the why and how of movement, Paul brings a distinctive storytelling approach to every project, crafting emotionally resonant and highly accessible work.
